IVAM, het museum voor hedendaagse kunst in Valencía, toont momenteel een overzichtstentoonstelling van Ripollés, ter gelegenheid van de tachtigste verjaardag van de Spaanse kunstenaar. The Wall Street Journal schreef over deze expositie:

The jovial face, ragged white beard and handmade horned hat of Spanish artist Juan Ripollés may distance him visually from his cooler,more calculated contemporaries, but his happy demeanor informs all of his creations. Mr. Ripollés's sculptures and paintings boast colors and shapes reminiscent of Miró and Picasso, but clearly reflect his own fantasy world of figurative abstractions.
